Story Telling: What Happen Yesterday

Yesterday I woke up feeling OK but as the day progressed I came to realize how we as humans are programmed and mentally conditioned for these holidays. Even if you chose not to be involved there will always be someone who will wish you a “Happy” what ever the holiday is.

Why does everyone assume you spent time with family or friends. Why do they assume you attended a church service.

These holidays are man made and the only profit is retail sales with people feeling guilty so they buy gifts.

So as I asked the question “What happen yesterday” I respond with nothing happen it was just another day.

Artist Trading Cards

My new project is the Artist Trading Cards.   Each one of these small pieces is 2.5 X 3.5 .  I bought the Canvas Paper for oils but they also have the ones for Pastels, Charcoal, and Water Color.  You get about 10 cards per pack and since they are already treated you can just paint, glue, stamp or whatever you want.  I have seen some very creative cards online.

I love to paint small as you know by my Small Art Series Paintings which start at 8 X 10 but I must admit painting on this small-scale 2.5 X 3.5  is really a challenge.   It will be interesting to see where this leads me.

Let me know your thoughts about these trading cards and take a visit to my gallery for other pieces  http://chinue.imagekind.com/Smallartseries

The Festivals Have Begun Part 3- Lemon Lily Festival

One of the most beautiful things about a road trip some where is the scenery you see along the way.   We went to the Lemon Lily Festival this weekend in Idylwild, California at an Environmental Conservation  The Lemon Lily is like many of our animals, it is a threatened native Lily.  This place is doing everything to educate the public about this beautiful plant.

Don’t depend on your GPS  for directions all the time because sometimes it will take you the back roads to a location.  We were at about 4,000 feet in these photos and still had about an hour left before we arrived.

One thing about being this elevation you can see the whole city beneath you.   It was a good day all in all.  Since I am not fond of heights  I’m not getting too close to the edge to take a photo.

Thanks for following me and liking our page, leave us a comment (we do read them),  You can also see our Art work at http://chinue.imagekind.com/Smallartseries.

Museum Day Part 2 The Lincoln Memorial

For some reason I always thought the only way I would ever see the Lincoln Memorial was to travel to Washington DC.   Image how surprised I was when I found out in the City of Redlands, California there is a Lincoln Memorial.  One day I will travel to Washington to see the main memorial, but for now I was glad to see this one.

This was the second museum we went to on the Museum Crawl Day.  It was like stepping back in history, I even saw the first submarine ship used by the Navy.  There were letters, there were medical instruments used on the soldiers to cut their limbs off,  there was history that is not taught in the school system.

Little did we know that if Lincoln had not been killed, he had planned to come to California.  That part of history we never knew.  It is a beautiful example of what is right and what is still wrong and needs improvement.

We have one more museum to share with you on the next writing, which you will be very surprised about.  Thanks for following and please leave a comment and like our page…….

Flowers and Festivals

This was my first of many Festivals for 2015.   Today we went to the Wild Flower Festival.  It was  my first time going so I was excited to say the least.

I was amazed at all the wild flowers and the history behind them I even learned a lot of American Indian history of how the plants were used by some of the tribes

The Gardens are about 88 acres and it was just beautiful to see. WILD FLOWER FESTIVAL WILD FLOWER FESTIVAL WILD FLOWER FESTIVAL Wild Flower Festival WILD FLOWER FESTIVALIt was a good day.

When You Hit The Finish Line

Today is day 90 of my Non-Negotiable health and fitness journey.   I completed the 90 days of the first level and I am excited about staying the course for the second level.   I made the commitment and followed till the finish line.

I invested in me and got awesome returns on my investment.   Life will always give us the opportunity to reset our life and the directions we are going.   It is up to us to accept the challenges that are presented in order to move forward and upward to new levels of insight.

As artist this applies to our art as well.  We are always exploring new directions, new heights to make our work better than the last time, more interesting than the last time, better lighting than the last time.  Whether it is painting, drawings, or photography as artist we always look for ways to make it better than the last time.  New concepts, new directions while staying on course in our endeavor to create our art.

Life is about change, and change is about growth which in the end is the investment we make in ourselves that brings us great returns.

Thanks for following our blog, like us, leave comments we do read them.  You can visit our Gallery at http://chinue.imagekind.com/Landscapes

2015 The Year Of Open Doors and New Normals

?????? It’s a brand new year 2015.  This is the first blog of the year with many more adventures to follow.   This is the year of open door and  new normals for your life……what does that mean you say????   What you want in your life on a continued base as normal, not just the first few weeks in a new year.

A new normal is living your life to the fullest with love, joy, peace, wellness, health, prosperous and  happiness.  2015 the year of greater opportunities so when the door opens walk through it without fear and without worry that things will not work out.

For us the new normal is the first art exhibit of the year at the end of this month (Jan)  the first painting of the year working on the concept which is a Music Theme The first visit to the Doctor which showed we had lost 12 lbs since the last time they saw us which is always good, so we continued with our walking today 3.8 miles….as the body screamed it’s cold even though we were bundled up with layers of clothing…..oh well we got it done.

So what will 2015 bring you that you will declare is going to be the new normal in life not just for the new year……..we have 52 weeks, 365 days of brand new chapters of a new normal so make it happen…….

Well thanks for starting off the year with me, be sure to like our page, share our page, leave a comment we read them all and follow us on this new normal journey.

Our art work can be seen at http://chinue.imagekind.com/ and we will be posting this first art works right before the exhibit so you can be the first to see it……..

The photo is called Stray Cat ,  Digital as you can see they were not moved by me or my camera…..

HOW IS YOUR 2014 ENDING

Once again we are at the point coming to the end of another year.   This year our focus was more studio working hours, more paintings, more exhibits and completing my first Art book.   Well we did what we set out to do.  All in all it turned out to be a good year for us and it looks like 2015 is going to be an even better year.

We have one exhibit so far in January 2015 and so many ideas as far as more paintings and designs.  My sketch book is over flowing with so much for the up coming year.

As we come to the middle of December, and everyone is running around trying to finish up Christmas shopping….lets stay focused on the real meaning of holidays……family, friends and reconnecting to ones inner voice.

We all have the ability to create a better place, as artist we show ours in the form of paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, singing, movies.   Art is our avenue of opening doors to creating more beauty,  more inspiring works, more togetherness.

I so enjoy reading and looking at so many of your works of art and you have no idea how you have encouraged me with my own journey of art and for that I say “thank you”.

You can see more of our works at http://chinue.imagekind.com/
Art is a wonderful gift this time of year and a lasting gift which does not lose value as time goes on.

Artist you are the shinning light in the world…….create and let your lights shine bright.  Have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to our January 2015 writings.  Thank you for liking our page,  follow us and please feel free to leave comments we really do read them……
