This was a real challenge topic so this is what I came up with.
This is still a work in progress.
With summer almost here our new focus is on the fruit. Welcome to the Fruit Series 4 X 4 and 9 X 12 Oil on Canvas. There is something about summer and fruits that just makes summer stand out. Enjoy

This has been a week of all kinds of shifts and adjustments. As many of you know I Periscope broadcast live stream as many people do with the influx of live streaming. All of my live steams were being saved on a third-party server as with many other people. Originally this was such a great idea since we could save our scopes on this server forever while we decide how to use them later for other opportunities.
Then the unthinkable happen, an email stating they were going to close the site down effective May 4, 2016. Talk about everyone going into “Olivia Pope” mode to see what could be done to rescues our scopes from being deleted forever from this third-party platform.
Katch.me has been nice enough to assist all of us in getting our scopes off their server before it closes forever by helping us move them either to our hard drive or YouTube.
As for now my scopes are downloaded to my hard drive and I am slowly moving them over to YouTube, thank goodness I have less that one hundred so I should have them all downloaded in a few weeks.
The lesson this has taught me as an artist is always be prepared to re-position yourself when one door closes. No one thought this would happen so every Virtual Assistant is gaining new clients because people who have three hundred or more scopes will have to have help moving them over to another space. Live stream is the future, and as it grows we all will have to adjust to many changes along the way.
We all will have to learn to re-position ourselves when we find ourselves in one of those “Olivia Pope” moments. Breath, step back and reset so we can continue to move forward and not become ship wrecked as the above oil painting on Canvas Panel.

Loving the day spent with a lot of sheep at the Sheep Shearing Event. Learned a lot about the process of shearing, washing the wool, drying it out, dyeing it and spinning the wool. We made a friend of one of the sheep who kept coming back to where we were every time he went away to join the others. The animal kingdom is really amazing.
Here are the sheep after they have been sheared of their wool, it was about 80 degrees today so I know they feel so much better. These would come right up to you so you could pet and feed them. As you can see they were not camera-shy at all.

Many times as artist we get to the place where we feel stuck and it is at that place of being stuck you start to question whether or not you should even be doing this thing called art as a career or a hobby.
Its doing these lean times of temporary despair that we have to step back and reevaluate what we are doing. Being an artist is not an easy path because it is a creative journey you are on instead of a career path.
Yes you want to make money at this but the real reason you are doing it is for the creative energy it gives you. Your doing it for the love of being able to be creative and also make a profit from it.
There are a lot of artist of all kinds, the arena is full of creative souls trying to find where they fit into this arena of creative oceans. You paint, draw, take photography, create computer art, performance art, and yet you still wonder where you fit into this ocean of art.
The only thing I can tell you is to keep creating and you will find your place. Remember your art is the journey of your soul as it keeps expanding to greater heights alone the way.

I started playing with some of my old pieces by blending them with some new software I have. I remember doing this once before with my watercolors where I took some watercolor paintings and reworked them in Illustrator which made some beautiful digital art.
The top one is a Collage 18 X 24 , I used pastels, cut out some pictures from magazines and then scanned this into my software to make this beautiful new piece of Man’s Confusion.
The bottom piece is a piece I had done for the Small Art Series Gallery, The Bell Peppers are 8 X 10 Oil on Canvas, scanned into the computer to make this collage type Digital Art piece.
I really like the way they both turned out and it goes to show you can re-create any piece of art making it tell a different story.
Let me know what you think about these two creations……..be sure to follow us, like our page and leave comments (we really do read them)
