One of the best times to take your sketchbook with you is when you know you will be waiting for a period of time. Here are some of my idle time drawings where I did some “Cross Hatching Drawings” with pens. It really helps the time go by quickly. These are with the Micron 02 and 05 pens. I heard these birds in a tree and they were really loud and intense. I was a good distance from them but was able to zoom in very well to capture this photo of them there is something about nature that always makes us know life is good no matter what is going on.
I really like how I was able to capture the red on the plant in detail. I recently joined a photography group so I can do more photography this summer.

Watercolor and pen a unique pair. The pen gives you the structure and lines but the watercolor allows you to paint outside of all the lines giving you a new type of freedom.
You don’t have to paint inside the lines, you don’t have to be locked into a box of shapes you can just paint.
Watercolor gives you a freedom. It bleeds into another color you can mix and match and take your mistakes as something meaningful. Watercolor forgives, it just makes something new.
This painting is small 6 X 8. The colors are red, green, blue, blue-green, purple, yellow, brown, white. This is the first painting as part of my journal drawings and paintings. These will mainly be done in my sketchbook.
