One of the best times to take your sketchbook with you is when you know you will be waiting for a period of time. Here are some of my idle time drawings where I did some “Cross Hatching Drawings” with pens. It really helps the time go by quickly. These are with the Micron 02 and 05 pens. Once again we are at the point coming to the end of another year. This year our focus was more studio working hours, more paintings, more exhibits and completing my first Art book. Well we did what we set out to do. All in all it turned out to be a good year for us and it looks like 2015 is going to be an even better year.
We have one exhibit so far in January 2015 and so many ideas as far as more paintings and designs. My sketch book is over flowing with so much for the up coming year.
As we come to the middle of December, and everyone is running around trying to finish up Christmas shopping….lets stay focused on the real meaning of holidays……family, friends and reconnecting to ones inner voice.
We all have the ability to create a better place, as artist we show ours in the form of paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, singing, movies. Art is our avenue of opening doors to creating more beauty, more inspiring works, more togetherness.
I so enjoy reading and looking at so many of your works of art and you have no idea how you have encouraged me with my own journey of art and for that I say “thank you”.

” We need to spend our time helping make it easier for the people who are on the front lines of change in our country and in this world” ~Ruby Dee
Her voice was strong and thundered like the roar of a lion yet she moved with grace on the screen and on stage. She gave us true theater artistry. A trail blazer in the performing arts Ruby Dee commanded excellence of herself in her performances.
At 90 she still took command of the big screen and stage. At 91 she took her final bow to us. The arts have a history of its own that we should teach as well as learn whether in Visual, Performance or Theater these trail braziers have left their marks in history. They have passed the torch to us who are coming along now. They have made the path for us.. laid a foundation for us……….. Study their struggles, learn the craft as they did with excellence and leave your mark on history as they have.
Ruby Dee…..RIP and thank you for stopping by and leaving us an example.
Thank you for being apart of my blog works, and my art work. Like us and please leave comments we do read them…………
Today Dr. Maya Angelou made her transition to the invisible. A profound speaker of wisdom. Dr. Maya Angelou touched the world with “words”.
Words that relayed wisdom, words on being a better human being, words that made us think of forgiveness and compassion. Words that made us think of something greater than ourselves.
Her words spoke louder on Social Media today as no other time with post of the many words she had said……….Dr. Maya we were listening.
We thank you for stopping by this earth and for teaching us all lessons of words………take your rest among the stars…………..
The photo was taken before the eclipse 2014, showing the moon at its fullest. Comments are always welcomed…..like us….follow us…………..
We are at the fifth day of December, 2013 and some of our profound peacemakers and visionaries have transitioned to their next form of life. They have moved from our visible world to that of the eternal world. They have left us with their life teachings of vision. The first was the Founder of TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) Dr. Paul Crouch. A man who had a vision for twenty-four hour Christian broadcasting world-wide. When no one else was talking or thinking about broadcasting satellite, cable television, Dr. Crouch was seeing how to broadcast christian programing around the world and 40 years later he has finished his journey and has taken his rest from his labor. The next person taught us about having a vision of peace. Nelson Mandela was in prison for 27 years and yet when released he could not and would not have ill feeling towards those who had held him. He was a man of peace and he lived his life as that example for us. He was the symbol of reconciliation He taught the world, no one is born hating one another but this is learned and we as people can learn to love the same way. Two men, two visions, two leaders who left their mark on society and are in the pages of history for this time and season. RIP dear souls, you have finished your work and left us with the examples….RIP.
Stay tune for the New Year Post January, 2014. Blessing to everyone……..
This is the last writing for 2013, I would like to thank everyone who has followed me this year. Thank you for your “Likes” to my post. We are wishing everyone a Happy Holiday Season………We are looking forward to 2014.
A man got on the bus with a large bag of what everyone thought was dry dog food. Once settled in his seat he stated, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” and then he proceeded to give everyone on the bus two lemons from the large bag we all had perceived to be dry dog food.
This small gesture brought a smile to everyone on the bus. Sometimes the smallest things will make you stop and think just how grand life really is. Today was the last final I had to take and the quarter is now ended until January.
The beginning Photography class went well, there were times I had trouble with the technical aspect of film development but with time It will smooth out. Transition from digital to film is a big adjustment even for me. The 2D Design went well but I don’t think I will be taking anything else in that direction, but the class itself was intense and interesting.
All in all I finished what I started……(Breathing) and even though there were times I felt like I had been handed a lot of lemons, I made my lemonade and continued to the finish line, the end of this quarter.
I’ll be uploading all the photographs I took in week or so after I scan them into my computer. I look forward to sharing them with you.
The picture is just some of the construction going on in the city. This was taken with my digital camera. Please feel free to like us, leave your comments and follow us as we continue this journey of art.
