One of the best times to take your sketchbook with you is when you know you will be waiting for a period of time. Here are some of my idle time drawings where I did some “Cross Hatching Drawings” with pens. It really helps the time go by quickly. These are with the Micron 02 and 05 pens. I heard these birds in a tree and they were really loud and intense. I was a good distance from them but was able to zoom in very well to capture this photo of them there is something about nature that always makes us know life is good no matter what is going on.
I really like how I was able to capture the red on the plant in detail. I recently joined a photography group so I can do more photography this summer.
Let me know what you think about the pictures. You can view our artwork at http://chinue.imagekind.com/Landscapes……be sure to follow us, like us and leave comments.
We spent the day at the Chalk Art Festival and Classic Car Show in Pasadena, Ca (Father’s Day 2015) I was my first time attending this festival so I was excited and amazed at all the amazing artist that were there creating and sharing their unique style of art. Art comes in many forms, mediums and creations and I do not think we will ever get to see all of them in one life time. It was a nice warm day, people came from near and far for this yearly event. Feel free to leave comments, like our page and please follow us this summer for more festivals………….
For some reason I always thought the only way I would ever see the Lincoln Memorial was to travel to Washington DC. Image how surprised I was when I found out in the City of Redlands, California there is a Lincoln Memorial. One day I will travel to Washington to see the main memorial, but for now I was glad to see this one.
This was the second museum we went to on the Museum Crawl Day. It was like stepping back in history, I even saw the first submarine ship used by the Navy. There were letters, there were medical instruments used on the soldiers to cut their limbs off, there was history that is not taught in the school system.
Little did we know that if Lincoln had not been killed, he had planned to come to California. That part of history we never knew. It is a beautiful example of what is right and what is still wrong and needs improvement.
We have one more museum to share with you on the next writing, which you will be very surprised about. Thanks for following and please leave a comment and like our page…….
This was my first of many Festivals for 2015. Today we went to the Wild Flower Festival. It was my first time going so I was excited to say the least.
I was amazed at all the wild flowers and the history behind them I even learned a lot of American Indian history of how the plants were used by some of the tribes
The Gardens are about 88 acres and it was just beautiful to see. It was a good day.

Finally we are about to say hello Spring and good-bye Winter. It was 81 degrees today and the sun was a welcome relief from all the cold weather. For the past 90 days I have been on a journey of being non-negotiable about my health.
What that meant to me was no excesses for not eating healthy or working out every day regardless of how tired I was, how many meetings I had, how many new clients, how many paintings..etc.
You might say “well that seems to be easy enough” until you’re doing your workouts at 11:00 pm because you were in meetings all day or painting all day. Until you are tested on this goal of “by any means necessary” of doing what you know you should be doing anyway then and only then do you realize what being non-negotiable really means.
This can apply to many aspects of life. I made it my goal to paint everyday, regardless of how I feel about it at the time, or take photography everyday which means taking my camera everywhere I go because you never know when that perfect shot will happen.
What is has shown me is that life is non-negotiable with all its ups and downs, we must show up everyday and see how it will unfold…..no excuses accepted…show up

Once again we are at the point coming to the end of another year. This year our focus was more studio working hours, more paintings, more exhibits and completing my first Art book. Well we did what we set out to do. All in all it turned out to be a good year for us and it looks like 2015 is going to be an even better year.
We have one exhibit so far in January 2015 and so many ideas as far as more paintings and designs. My sketch book is over flowing with so much for the up coming year.
As we come to the middle of December, and everyone is running around trying to finish up Christmas shopping….lets stay focused on the real meaning of holidays……family, friends and reconnecting to ones inner voice.
We all have the ability to create a better place, as artist we show ours in the form of paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, singing, movies. Art is our avenue of opening doors to creating more beauty, more inspiring works, more togetherness.
I so enjoy reading and looking at so many of your works of art and you have no idea how you have encouraged me with my own journey of art and for that I say “thank you”.
