This was a real challenge topic so this is what I came up with.
This is still a work in progress.
While cleaning my studio I found a canvas that had not been used. I wanted to do a collage type of project using oils so I started applying the collage part.
Since I was up early this morning with my sick dog who had tummy issues I did a sketch in my sketchbook.
Now I’m transferring that sketchbook drawing onto canvas.
Its kind of abstract don’t you think.
One of the best times to take your sketchbook with you is when you know you will be waiting for a period of time. Here are some of my idle time drawings where I did some “Cross Hatching Drawings” with pens. It really helps the time go by quickly. These are with the Micron 02 and 05 pens. You can view more of our works at http://chinue.imagekind.com/Smallartseries, thanks for following. I heard these birds in a tree and they were really loud and intense. I was a good distance from them but was able to zoom in very well to capture this photo of them there is something about nature that always makes us know life is good no matter what is going on.
I really like how I was able to capture the red on the plant in detail. I recently joined a photography group so I can do more photography this summer.
Let me know what you think about the pictures. You can view our artwork at http://chinue.imagekind.com/Landscapes……be sure to follow us, like us and leave comments.
We spent the day at the Chalk Art Festival and Classic Car Show in Pasadena, Ca (Father’s Day 2015) I was my first time attending this festival so I was excited and amazed at all the amazing artist that were there creating and sharing their unique style of art. Art comes in many forms, mediums and creations and I do not think we will ever get to see all of them in one life time. It was a nice warm day, people came from near and far for this yearly event. Feel free to leave comments, like our page and please follow us this summer for more festivals………….
Well the summer months have arrived and the city festivals have started. Kicking things off is the Cherry Festival Parade which is every year right downtown. It was especially good this year because my grand-daughter was in it with the drill team so you know I was proud.
You have CHP, City Police Dept, City Council, Small Businesses, and yes all the Classic cars auto show. The High School Band, Drill Teams, Queens and Princesses, Classic Fire Trucks and then Summer Time Fun in the park with rides for the kids and plenty of junk foods for young and old.
Yes small town coming together in a community way. Next up is the Lavender Festival………l
Keep following this summer for more fun…..like our page, leave a comment……we are almost at 500 blogs (can you believe that) Wow. Recently went on museum visit which was called a “Crawl”. You had admission to three museums that day at no charge, they gave you a passport that you would have stamped at each location. At the last location they would put your passport into a drawing for tickets at a later date.
The weather was perfect for this outing so off we went to the first location First stop was the Historical Glass Museum. Ok, did you know there was any such thing as a Glass Museum, I sure did not. This museum is truly for the collector in you with items from the 1800’s, 1900’s and more. If you can even image glass ware from the 1920’s then you have come to the right place. I was very impressed with all the history of glass at this location and the care that has been given in preserving this museum for public view. It was a good day for learning about glass…………….:)
Thanks for following us, and if you haven’t already like us we have more to come. We will tell you about the next museum in our next blog, until then keep preserving history.
Leave your comments, we really do read them……..
Life is a process and with each process we are supposed to grow, learn and reflect. We are now well into 2015. We have been painting, cleaning out the remnants of 2014 by shredding old paperwork.
Currently we are working on our inventory of art supplies, our inventory of art, and our goals for this new year. Were ordering new canvas, new brushes and drawing new ideals in our sketchbook.
We recently went to the Free day at one of the LA Museums. Since it was free, there were a lot of people.
Art is an ever-growing, ever-expanding career and there are so many new and exciting artist and their works are just amazing. From an idea to a vision to a concept that is the process of art and that process is ever-changing in the mind of an artist.
We are currently making new art for our “Small Art Series” which starts at 8 X 10 Canvas Oils. This is the first one for 2015 called “That is Less” 8 X 10 Oil , it is available at our site http://chinue.imagekind.com/Smallartseries.
This is the first post of 2015 so thanks for following us this year as we journey through the world of art…..be sure to like our page and leave a comment……..
It’s a brand new year 2015. This is the first blog of the year with many more adventures to follow. This is the year of open door and new normals for your life……what does that mean you say???? What you want in your life on a continued base as normal, not just the first few weeks in a new year.
A new normal is living your life to the fullest with love, joy, peace, wellness, health, prosperous and happiness. 2015 the year of greater opportunities so when the door opens walk through it without fear and without worry that things will not work out.
For us the new normal is the first art exhibit of the year at the end of this month (Jan) the first painting of the year working on the concept which is a Music Theme The first visit to the Doctor which showed we had lost 12 lbs since the last time they saw us which is always good, so we continued with our walking today 3.8 miles….as the body screamed it’s cold even though we were bundled up with layers of clothing…..oh well we got it done.
So what will 2015 bring you that you will declare is going to be the new normal in life not just for the new year……..we have 52 weeks, 365 days of brand new chapters of a new normal so make it happen…….
Well thanks for starting off the year with me, be sure to like our page, share our page, leave a comment we read them all and follow us on this new normal journey.
