Tonight we went to the Winter Fest Tree Lighting Festival. This is the reality that Christmas is just around the corner and 2015 is almost out the door. Where did the year go.
We stayed long enough for the tree lighting and then left because it was cold. They even brought snow in for those who wanted to snow board.
Santa and Mrs Claus were there walking around greeting everyone, they had a group there called Heart and Soul line dancing who performed, there was a choir there singing Christmas Carols, and plenty of food.
All in all it was a good community event.
Be sure to follow us for more festivals, museums, and events. Like our page and leave a comment (we really do read them). Tune into our Periscope Art Scopes where we inspire the emerging artist with tips on Getting Your Work Seen………….
I heard these birds in a tree and they were really loud and intense. I was a good distance from them but was able to zoom in very well to capture this photo of them there is something about nature that always makes us know life is good no matter what is going on.
I really like how I was able to capture the red on the plant in detail. I recently joined a photography group so I can do more photography this summer.
The last museum stop we made on the Museum Crawl event was at the Kimberly Crest Mansion. As you can see this is a place of pure beauty. A little history, the house was built-in 1897 and is a well-preserved example of the Victorian Era in California during that time.
The first floor consists of ten rooms, which include: a powder room, half bath, library which has the actual books the family read , a parlor, main hall, dining room, flower porch, butlers pantry, kitchen, and laundry room. These rooms were used for greeting guests and entertaining.
The second floor was the personal living area for the family and includes a mezzanine with two bedrooms on each side connected by Jack and Jill bathrooms as well as a conservatory.
The third floor has an additional bedroom and a billiard room as well as a screened sleeping porch that would have been used in the hot summer months. The other half of the top floor was sectioned off as servant’s quarters and includes a bathroom for their use. This not part of public tours. The house also has an attic and basement, which are not included on the public tour.
The Kimberly Crest Carriage House was built for the family’s horses and carriages and had a small apartment on the top floor for the caretaker. In 1897 the cost to construct the home was $10,000.
This ends our Museum Day, hope you have enjoyed our trip of three museums.

Once again we are at the point coming to the end of another year. This year our focus was more studio working hours, more paintings, more exhibits and completing my first Art book. Well we did what we set out to do. All in all it turned out to be a good year for us and it looks like 2015 is going to be an even better year.
We have one exhibit so far in January 2015 and so many ideas as far as more paintings and designs. My sketch book is over flowing with so much for the up coming year.
As we come to the middle of December, and everyone is running around trying to finish up Christmas shopping….lets stay focused on the real meaning of holidays……family, friends and reconnecting to ones inner voice.
We all have the ability to create a better place, as artist we show ours in the form of paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture, singing, movies. Art is our avenue of opening doors to creating more beauty, more inspiring works, more togetherness.
I so enjoy reading and looking at so many of your works of art and you have no idea how you have encouraged me with my own journey of art and for that I say “thank you”.
You can see more of our works at http://chinue.imagekind.com/
