Today we painted A bell pepper, white onion, and potatoes
We used watercolor pencils to sketch out first. The watercolor pencils will blend well with most paints. We used #ArtistLoft Crimson Red, Viridian Green, Yellow Ochre and #Premium Chinese White , round soft watercolor brush, and watercolor pad 6×6.
Its here the count down for the new year has started. People are heading to different places to be ready for the celebration of the new year. Have you ever thought that maybe you are the celebration. You and your creative energy are a celebration every time you step into a room.
2017 has been a great year, and as we close it out with the last blog of the year we want to thank everyone for their support of this blog. You have followed, you have liked and shared and we are so grateful for your presents.
We are looking forward to what 2018 will manifest.
Still working on the Fruit Series, so here we are with “Spatter of
Grapes”. This is 9x 12 Oil on Canvas. We are using samples of oil paints we received from Winsor and Newton. The paint is the riches purple they could have created in my opinion. Then I took the brush and just splattered the paint for the background.
Loving the day spent with a lot of sheep at the Sheep Shearing Event. Learned a lot about the process of shearing, washing the wool, drying it out, dyeing it and spinning the wool. We made a friend of one of the sheep who kept coming back to where we were every time he went away to join the others. The animal kingdom is really amazing.
Here are the sheep after they have been sheared of their wool, it was about 80 degrees today so I know they feel so much better. These would come right up to you so you could pet and feed them. As you can see they were not camera-shy at all.
This is the second drawing of 2016 11 X 17 Oil Pastel and Ink
Many times as artist we get to the place where we feel stuck and it is at that place of being stuck you start to question whether or not you should even be doing this thing called art as a career or a hobby.
Its doing these lean times of temporary despair that we have to step back and reevaluate what we are doing. Being an artist is not an easy path because it is a creative journey you are on instead of a career path.
Yes you want to make money at this but the real reason you are doing it is for the creative energy it gives you. Your doing it for the love of being able to be creative and also make a profit from it.
There are a lot of artist of all kinds, the arena is full of creative souls trying to find where they fit into this arena of creative oceans. You paint, draw, take photography, create computer art, performance art, and yet you still wonder where you fit into this ocean of art.
The only thing I can tell you is to keep creating and you will find your place. Remember your art is the journey of your soul as it keeps expanding to greater heights alone the way.
